As many customers tell us, once they’ve had our apple cider, no other will do. Unlike the very prevalent practice of contracting out to larger more commercial suppliers, we press Brown’s Cider here on site. It is made in small batches using a cider press dating back to the 1930’s.
Randy learned the craft of cider-making from his Grandpap Brown and has continued to hone his skill. Experience has taught him how to select the apple varieties and quantities for each batch or pressing to get the taste he’s aiming for, depending on the time of year. Similar to a wine sommelier, he has a knack for creating and blending a cider that always delivers a mouthful of apple goodness even though no two batches are ever exactly alike.
While our Original Blend is a hallmark here at Brown’s Orchard and Cider Co., many of our customers love our unique varietals. Whenever we can, both time and Mother Nature lining up, we press our Golden Delicious and Granny Smith, as well as Honey Crisp and Gold Rush ciders. We’re happy to report they are very big hits and we hope to have them available again.
OUR 2016 SEASON is starting August 25…(be sure to check out our Home page for new hours!!) Watch this space and THE HOME PAGE for the availability of our fresh cider. Unfortunately, we won’t have it for opening. We may have frozen unpasteurized cider available for home cider makers from last year’s abundant supply. Stay tuned for details….
WE HAVE FRESH AND FROZEN CIDER FOR OUR 2015 OPENING!
Our goal is to press fresh cider on a weekly basis for the duration of our season. Frozen will often be available should demand outstrip supply… provided that our nearly century-old cider press cooperates! We are honored to be included as part of your life events and celebrations, so please call ahead if you require a larger quantity and we will try to accommodate your request. As one of our customers memorably stated, our cider “is the nectar of the gods.”.

Wednesday, November 7 – We had a very small batch of cider in the initial pressing. We should be pressing again on Friday, so it should be available in the Market for the weekend.
Monday, NOVEMBER 5 – FRESH CIDER ALERT! We are pressing our REMARKABLY DELICIOUS FRESH CIDER TODAY. IT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET BY WEDNESDAY. WATCH THIS SPACE…..
OCTOBER 17 – OUR FROZEN CIDER IS RESTOCKED. We have GRANNY SMITH, HONEY CRISP, GOLDEN DELICIOUS, CHERRY BLEND(with Montmorency Cherry juice concentrate) and GRAPE BLEND(with Concord Grape juice).
OCTOBER 4 – Still a good supply of our frozen cider for the crisp autumn days ahead.
SEPTEMBER 7 – There are five varieties of frozen cider available at this time, HONEY CRISP, GRANNY SMITH, GOLD RUSH, GOLDEN DELICIOUS, CHERRY BLEND and CONCORD GRAPE JUICE.
SEPTEMBER 2012 – The market will open for the season on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 at 10 a.m.
AUGUST 2012 – Check back for updates on our opening which will be in early SEPTEMBER. WE WILL HAVE a great supply of FROZEN CIDER AVAILABLE, INCLUDING OUR SPECIAL VARIETALS.

We hope to start pressing our Fresh Apple Cider the middle to end of October. This is a time-consuming process, and is dependent on both the apple supply and picking schedule. (We’ve sold out of our frozen cider and our Apple Juice.)
Dec. 1 – GRANNY SMITH CIDER is pressed, bottled and available in the Market as are fresh batches of ORIGINAL BLEND, GOLDEN DELICIOUS, and GOLD RUSH. Randy thinks these are the season’s best to date. Remember, extra can be frozen and thawed in time for any Christmas or New Year’s get togethers. We also have delicious CONCORD GRAPE JUICE, a nice alternative over the holidays.
Nov. 10 – We now have a limited number of CIDER IN PINT-SIZED containers available.
Nov. 8 – There’s a fresh batch of HONEY CRISP CIDER in the market.
Nov. 3 – We’ve had to delay making the APPLE CHERRY CIDER BLEND but it should be ready soon. HONEY CRISP CIDER is next to be pressed and we expect to have it in the Market by the weekend, Nov.5 and 6.
October 29 – Look for a fresh batch of GOLDEN DELICIOUS CIDER, CONCORD GRAPE JUICE, as well as APPLE GRAPE and APPLE CHERRY BLENDS in the Market this weekend. What with the weather, maybe a warmed, mulled mug would be the ticket, and to think it’s not even Halloween!……..
October 26 – CIDER-MAKING is in full swing. We hope to keep a constant supply, barring unforeseen circumstances. It looks like we’ll be able to do a pressing of HONEYCRISP CIDER in November,….it truly is sweet and delicious, just like the apple. Last year was the first time we made it, and it was a big hit. Saturday, Oct.15 – It’s finally here – Our first APPLE CIDER is ready and in the market! Stop by and get it while it lasts.
